Consumer Limited Warranty Policy

 

This document outlines the limited warranty provided by MY EV (Private) Limited to the original retail purchaser ("Customer") of the new MY EV Electric Motorcycle/Scooter ("Vehicle"). This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and service, subject to the terms and conditions listed below.

 

I. Warranty Coverage by Component

The warranty period begins on the date the Vehicle is first delivered to the Customer (as recorded on the original sales invoice).

Frame & Chassis

36 Months (3 Years)

30,000 km

Covers structural integrity against natural open welding, loose welding, or deformity.

Charger (External)

12 Months (1 Year)

N/A

Covers manufacturing defects in the charger unit.

Display & Minor Electricals

12 Months (1 Year)

10,000 km

Includes digital display, lights (LEDs), horn, switches, and wiring harness.


II. Conditions that VOID the Entire Warranty

The warranty for ALL COMPONENTS will be immediately VOID if any of the following conditions are met:

A. Non-Authorized Service & Tampering

1.    Unauthorized Repair/Modification: Any repair, alteration, modification, or fitting of non-MY EV genuine parts performed by a non-MY EV Authorized Dealer, Service Center, or Technician.

2.    Broken Seals: If the factory-applied warranty seals, tamper-proof stickers, or serial numbers on the Battery Pack, Motor, or Controller are found to be broken, defaced, or removed.

3.    Use of Non-Genuine Parts: Installation or use of non-MY EV genuine spare parts or accessories that affect the Vehicle’s performance or integrity.

B. Misuse, Abuse, and Negligence

1.    Accident/Impact Damage: Damage resulting from a collision, accident, fall, fire, or external physical impact.

2.    Water Damage: Damage caused by water immersion (e.g., riding through deep floodwater), high-pressure washing, or water ingress exceeding the bike's design limits.

3.    Overloading: Operating the Vehicle with a weight (rider and cargo) that exceeds the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) specified in the Owner's Manual.

4.    Improper Use: Using the Vehicle for racing, competition, commercial purposes (unless specifically permitted by the sales agreement), or any other activity not intended for regular personal transportation.

C. Improper Battery Care

1.    Unauthorized Charger: Charging the Lithium Battery Pack using any charger not explicitly supplied or approved by MY EV (Private) Limited.

2.    Deep Discharge: Failure to charge the battery and allowing the State of Charge (SOC) to remain at 0% (fully discharged) for a period exceeding 30 consecutive days.

3.    Improper Storage: Failure to follow the long-term storage and charging guidelines provided in the Owner's Manual.

D. Administrative

1.    Missing Records: Failure to present the original Proof of Purchase (Invoice) and the duly stamped and filled Warranty Booklet at the time of the claim.

2.    Odometer Tampering: If the odometer has been disconnected, altered, or its reading cannot be determined.


III. General Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following items, as they are considered consumable parts subject to wear and tear:

     Tyres, tubes, and spokes.

     Brake pads, brake shoes, and brake cables.

     Drive chains and sprockets.

     Fuses, bulbs (if applicable), and minor exterior plastic parts.

     Minor rattles, noises, vibrations, or cosmetic defects (e.g., paint chips, scratches) that do not affect the functional performance of the vehicle.

IV. Warranty Claim Procedure

1.    Report the Issue: The Customer must bring the complete Vehicle to the nearest MY EV Authorized Service Center immediately upon discovering the defect.

2.    Documentation: The Customer must present the original sales invoice and the Warranty Booklet with completed service records.

3.    Inspection: All claims are subject to a detailed technical inspection by MY EV's authorized personnel.

4.    Remedy: If the claim is approved, MY EV will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective component free of charge. The complete Vehicle will not be replaced. All replaced parts become the property of MY EV (Private) Limited.
